Kettle Falls man re-creates Lockheed P-38 Lightning | Weird
Title (Max 100 Characters)
Check out this re-creation of a “Lockheed P-38 Lightning”, a World War II fighter aircraft - flying in place in Kettle Falls.
Gerald Verhaag emailed to say his father, Dutch Verhaag, 90, built the plane as yard art. It has a 12 foot wing span and is 15 feet in length.
Most of the time, Dutch can be found in his shop creating things. The plane isn’t the only object he’s made. Gerald says his father has built an alligator, trees and has also erected an old satellite dish over an even older cook stove to protect it from the weather. The stove was used for years by Dutch’s mother.
