911 service out in northern Spokane County, Stevens County | News
UPDATED - 5:05 p.m. - Services in north Spokane County and Stevens County have been restored.
Century Link Cable is reporting that 911 service is out for Deer Park and Springdale. Someone accidentally cut through their fiber wire 12 miles north of Spokane disrupting the service.
They are working to repair the problem now, but do not know when the service will be restored.
While Century Link said there was a service interruption in the Deer Park / Springdale area, Spokane Combined Communications Center said the problem is much more widespread impacting northern Spokane County as well as Stevens County.
Residents who need medical or other assistance in these areas who cannot reach 9-1-1 should go directly to a local fire station or police station to report any emergency.
Stevens County Fire District 1 and Spokane County Fire District 4 stations from Deer Park to the north are staffing their stations now to assist citizens.
Emergency officials are attempting to work with phone providers to identify the magnitude of the problem and get it resolved.
