Stevens County fire danger upgraded to high | Environment
The Washington State Department of Natural Resources has upgraded the fire danger rating in Stevens County to high.
The high rating applies to land outside of Fire Districts one and two, those areas were upgraded from a moderate fire danger level. Land inside of those fire districts will remain at their current high rating. Ferry and Pend Oreille counties have also been upgraded from moderate to high fire danger.
Daily updates on burn restrictions are available at 1-800-323-BURN or on the DNR website. Homeowners are encourage to visit the Firewise website for wildfire prevention tips and and for information on how to reduce the risk of losing their home in the event of a wildfire.
